Thanks to everyone who took part in the 30th Annual Winterlude Triathlon!
It was an epic week in terms of weather swings and course modifications, but you were all very supportive and we hope you enjoyed your day.
Thanks also go out to the National Capital Commission, Capital Property Management (take care of the Canal), Lafleur de la capitale (ski course grooming) and our major sponsor Bushtukah.
Special thanks go to all the volunteers who stood around for several hours while participants at least got to work up some body heat to stay warm.
We know we ran out of long sleeve shirts. If you DID NOT GET ONE, we have your name on a list and will have some made up. Once that has been done, we will contact you. We do apologize for this. Math was never my strong suit.
2011—perfect day, sort of: awesome skating conditions, but the ice got too flooded and the run course was washed away. Run was dangerous and shortened to 3k. Enter the two loop ski course!
2010—a normal year
2009—a normal year—skate, ski, run.
2008— Ice was very bad from Dows Lake to Bank St, so we rearranged things to skate from Bank St bridge downtown and back, run 5k carrying skates in a snow storm, ski on powder.
2007—no skate, no ski. Enter the Really Cool 8k Run
2006—no ice, so it was an 8k run and 7k ski.
2005—no ice, hardly any snow, so we moved location to Terry Fox Athletic Facility for a 5k ski, 5k run, 5k ski.
2004—normal race conditions, though stand to be corrected
2003—normal race conditions
